The government continues with its bailouts. This weeks good news for mortgage borrowers is that mortgage rates have gone down significantly as the government has agreed to buy mortgage paper from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

I suggest:

1. you look at how much you owe on your house,

2. determine your present interest rate,

3. are you on an arm ( adjustable rate mortgage),? Will it readjust soon?

5. determine payback period for your refinance.
